Ok, so hands up how many people have heard that mobile will be the next big thing in Affiliate Marketing, and I am not talking about selling the hand sets as Affiliates do rather well from that. No what I finally want to hear and see is proof that Affiliates can make money from changing their content in to mobile friendly versions. The last 10 years has been full of WAP this and that, and now the current crazy is to access your social profile will on the move but as yet I not seen any proof that you can make a site mobile friendly and bring in the big bucks.
I have a couple of sites that I think are just ripe for accessing while out and about, indeed stats show that we get a decent amount of traffic from mobile devices already but would it be worth making a dedicated mobile platform and where are all the companies wanting to advertise on mobile content. This is what I hope I will hear the answer to and is why I am keen on going to the talk “Affiliate Marketing on the Mobile Internetâ€.
However what sucks about the A4Expo (and is actually what’s good about it all at the same time) is that while I am keen to hear “Affiliate Marketing on the Mobile Internet†at 11:00 on the 1st day, at the very same time you have “Real World Affiliate Management Tips – How to Communicate, Motivate & Incentivise Affiliates Effectivelyâ€, “David Vs Goliath, Affiliate Marketing for SME’s†and “WordPress SEO & Optimisation Strategies†all good options, so curse you A4Expo and the choices that have to be made! LOL 😉
Clarke,
I have been hearing that mobile marketing will be the big thing next year for the last 10 years. And all the guys giving these lecturers have had egg on their faces, as they’ve been proven to be wrong. Billions of pounds have been invested into making money from having the internet on mobile and I doubt even 0.1% of that has been made back.
Yes, the mobile will become increasingly popular to access the internet and more money will be made from it, but it will only be a fraction of what is made via a computer. You can’t surf a website on a 3 inch by 3 inch screen with tiny buttons to type stuff in!
C u at the Expo 🙂
